Sunshine Sweater!
My first sweater is from the Loop-d-Loop book by Teva Durham. It is the Ballet Tee made from my own hand-dyed yarn called Sunshine. I made it in less than 48 hours! Not quite as quick as mom, but I'm getting there!

I recommend this pattern to anyone who likes to knit!
Lucy
P.S. Dad says to remind you that there are 2 days left to post comments for the contest! Some people who are stacking the deck appear to be trying to limit the competition by commenting that today is the last day. You have until midnight AZ time tomorrow Tuesday, May 31. So leave me some comments and you might win!

Lucy that is BEAUTIFUL! The yarn is phenomenal, and it goes great with your color. Congratulations on your first sweater. I see now that I must make one for myself, too :) Can't wait to come back and knit with you and your sister (your mom and dad and le too).
Oops- forgot to mention: It looks like a sunrise!
Oops again- I just saw that you called it the sunshine sweater, and that I was not so original by saying it looked like the sun. I guess I AM in fact a crackpot. PS I am not doing this for the contest- I just really am that dense. Great job, once again!
Um...Illanna, I hate to tell you this, but you are not a crackpot.
Lucy you are Absolutlely Fabulous! You can ride shotgun (from the backseat)with me anytime!
Love your sunshine sweater, Lucy! How talented are you! Your art was awesome at the Artist Within - I am so impressed with all of you! Love you, Aunt Mel
Okay, I have something else to say-Katie- you didn't have your Murder Book at the art show did you? If so, I didn't see it :(. Let me know! Muffy
Beautiful colors in the yarn. And I love the sweater, too. You and Illanna have inspired me to check out this Loop-D-Loop book and maybe I will make my first sweater, too!
One more thing, Miss Lucy- in today's picture you look just like your Aunt Carrie, which is beautiful. Hugs to you and Gracie! Aunt Mel
Good gosh - I was not stacking the deck - mearly forgot that May has 31 damn days... whose bright idea was that???
Getting in under the wire to say - this sweater looks even better in person!
And even more so because it was made by the girl with my favorite name. Ok, so Lucy is also my dog's name, but it's still a really good name.
Steve said I had to leave 12 more comments to get y'all over the 200 mark...
12 more is a breeze - actually I think it's more like 9 more now...
So really - what can be said for those 8 more comments...
Anyone want to buy a Play Center??
Cheap for you!!!
Did you know that Orange and Blue (my dogs) got a bath today!! And a haircut!!!
Lucy - you did such a good job on your bear's sweater - I think you and Lily need to make Orange and Blue sweaters!!! They'd love it!
Woof, woof, arf, woof arf, grrrrr, woof, woof, arf!
That was from Orange and Blue - they were letting you know what color sweaters they wanted!! Can you guess?
Ok - so I know how we were all drooling over the sweets counter at the bookstore tonight....
So I just had to go home and have something sweet... guess what i am eating now?
Go on.... guess....
Lily - stop laughting and guess girlfriend... ;-)
Do you give up yet?
Lucy - that was a good guess... yours too Lily - but not even close...
I'm eating a banana with my very own homemade Dulche DeLeche Sause (is that how to spell it??)
Oh it's soooo good! Just enough for a sweet snack for before bed!
Wanna hear something crazy?
Ok well I am going to tell you anyway!!!... Ready...
I went grocery shopping today (that's not the crazy part because I do that every week) but what was crazy was that I bought SIX oranges and they cost me nearly $8!!!
It would have been cheaper to buy crack and a cup of coffee!
Ever wonder how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie-roll pop?
How about if a payday is really like getting paid!
What about Charmin - is it really the softest toilet paper... or is it northern?
So Lily and Lucy - are you gals going to come visit me in GA?
I'll teach you how to drink sweet tea, say y'all - and take you to ALL the yarn stores in town!
How much wood COULD a wood chop chop, if a wood chop could chop wood?
Oh - guess what.... we have a wood pecker at our new house.... He likes to peck on the metal around our fireplace chimney...
I am all for animal rights - but if he keeps pecking I am going to start using him for target practice!
It was so great to see you guys tonight. You all have some great projects going on.
By the way, I noticed that you have another poster named Melanie. How are you going to know which of us is which?
I took a picture of my bear next to my dog. It's posted on my blog and it's kind of funny.
I think this will be my last comment for the month of May. Thanks for having this contest. It's been a lot of fun trying to come up with new things to say and reading everyone else's comments.
Wow 44 comments... everyone must have REALLY liked your first sweater Lu!
PS Alison is the crackpot.
So apparantly you guys got all the comments and left me with none. All of my commenters picked up and left for lusciousgraciousville. I posted 6 FOs in 2 days and I get nothing. I even checked my own comments section to make sure it was still working. What's a girl gotta do to get a comment around here? Do I have to have a freakin contest? Here's my contest. Leave comments. Whoever has the most comments gets 1 oz of silk yarn from Habu and gets to stay on my sidebar. Everyone else is getting deleted. Starting... NOW.
Awsome work Lucy! I'm proud to have seen it in person.
I enjoyed meeting the Luscious Gracious family last night! Sorry I couldn't stay for round two at Chandler Fashion Center..
RSS feed! RSS feed!
That is wonderful Lucy. And it makes your eyes shine ever more. Ippolyti says that every day in lusciousgracious is a bit of sunshine and that you will have to teach her. Eleni says you will have to be patient.
I told Teva about you and your first sweater. She was really happy that you made your first sweater from her book :)
